  20. I am now using these settings for Gigamem version 3.0:

  22. buffer     4.0
  23. cache      300
  24. attribute  0
  25. mask       1
  26. minsize    10  <---- this setting is the critical one!!!!!!!!

  28. with a dedicated partition called SWAP with 20 megs
  29. and I am now happily rendering those large sample scenes
  30. I was not able to before!

  32. The problem was in the Gigamem settings for Lightwave! If you get the
  33. 3.12 update (it is supposedly free) it has Lightwave already
  34. configured correctly in its data base file whereas 3.0 does not
  35. have Lightwave in the data base.
  36.  
  37. If you are using 3.0 you must customize the settings for Lightwave yourself.
  38. If you use the defaults after adding Lightwave, Lightwave will
  39. not always have enough memory. You must go into advanced options
  40. and change the minsize setting from the default of 1000 to 10.

  42. This solved my problem of no RGB or Z buffers for version 3.0 of Gigamem
  43. running on my A3000T (8M fast + 2M chip) with Lightwave 3.1.
